The Dalai Lama

I think the Sunday Times- in editorial and column form- has said everything that needs to be said on this matter.
The question is, what are YOU going to do about it?

Do the easiest and most obvious thing; NOT VOTE FOR THE ANC! The party continues time and time again to put its needs before those of the nation and to put the nation into disrepute. I think it is very sad that there are people out there who will still vote for the ANC despite its constant undermining of the SA people. There is an on going LIE that the decision to not allow the Dalai Lama is for ‘national interests’. What Interests?? Just last year, we as South Africa were complaining about the impact of cheap chinese imports to the country and how they are destroying our textile industry. Factories in Cape Town have shut down as the clothing industry ventures to gain economies of scale by having their clothes made in China as opposed to locally. Thousands of South Africans have lost their jobs because of “trade” with China. The argument of “needing” China does not hold water. South Africans, we have read reports about cheap chinese cars with safety issues being brought into our country, just when we want to create our own auto sector. What national interest is this that they are talking about? We all know about the involvement of China in the Sudanese conflict which has been going on for a very long time and one would hope that this would give us even more ammunition to defy China and support the Dalai Lama, but alas! Our fate as a nation lies in what we will do on April 22 at the polls. Let us say NO to the corruption and the self-centredness that has bedevilled our country. I have made my choice, I am NOT voting for the ANC!
